What Happens During a Typical Coaching Session?

A standard coaching session follows a structured process designed to help you achieve your goals. Here’s a common flow:

Warm-up & Rapport Building: The coach greets you, reviews previous progress, and establishes a comfortable environment.

Goal Setting: Together, you clarify the objectives for the session—what you want to achieve or focus on.

Core Coaching Work: The main part of the session involves exploring challenges, brainstorming solutions, and working through obstacles using coaching techniques like open-ended questions and active listening.

Action Planning: You and your coach create specific action steps or commitments to work on before the next session.

Wrap-up & Reflection: The session ends with a summary of key takeaways, acknowledgment of progress, and scheduling the next meeting.

How Long Is Each Session?

Typical Duration: Most coaching sessions last 60 minutes.

Variations: Some may be as short as 20 minutes (laser sessions) or as long as 90 minutes, depending on complexity and personal preference. You and your coach can discuss your preference.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Short-Term Goals: For specific, narrowly defined goals, you might need 4 to 10 sessions.

Long-Term or Ongoing Support: For broader development or major life changes, coaching might extend over several months, with sessions one to four times per month.

General Range: Many people find 6 to 12 sessions effective, but the exact number depends on your goals, the pace of progress, and the type of support you need. Flexibility is important, and you can adjust as you go.

Are Sessions In-Person, Online, or Both?

Online Coaching:
Provides flexibility, accessibility, and convenience, often via video calls or phone.

Please note: We currently offer virtual consultations only.

What Should I Prepare Before My First Session?

To make the most of your initial coaching session:

Clarify Your Goals: Reflect on what you want to achieve and any challenges you’re facing.

Complete Pre-Session Forms: If provided, fill out any background or assessment forms.

Be Open & Honest: Be ready to discuss your situation candidly.

Prepare Questions: Think about what you want to ask your coach.

Set Expectations: Consider what you hope to get from coaching and be ready to discuss this with your coach.

Be Punctual and Present: Arrive on time and minimize distractions for a productive session.
